We may be biased, but the photographer for your wedding will be the single most important service you book. Think about this: as you look back on the beauty of the ceremony and reception the day after your wedding, the cake and the dinner that you planned for the menu are gone, the tuxedos and rentals were returned, the flowers start to wilt, and the guests have left. What remains after that day are your love for one another and the images we will capture together. It is for this reason we take our role so very seriously.
Our photographic style is vibrant and authentic and most importantly… timeless. We don’t believe in following current editing trends. Think, overly dark, matte, and desaturated images. While this style may seem trendy and cool now, in a few years it’s going to look dated.
Think about selective color (black and white image with something, usually flowers, in color).

Or that double exposure wedding photo a lot of our parents have of them in their church and another photo of them looking down on their ceremony overlayed on the same photo.

Or that really hilarious double exposure wedding photo in a brandy glass. Seriously, why was this a thing?!

This was considered cool and trendy at the time, but looking at it today, it’s hilarious. We want your grandchildren to look through your wedding album and appreciate how great you looked and the beautiful story of your wedding day. Not the silly effects of the photography. This is why we strive for true to color images that will stand the test of time.
We take a candid and photojournalist approach to most of the wedding day, but we also provide guidance when necessary. We may move you to an area where the lighting is perfect for your getting ready photos, but will capture you getting ready as it happens. Spending years training under the guidance of another professional photographer with 40 years of experience, we have mastered posing groups so that everyone’s face will be seen in the photo and so that the pose is symmetrical and well lit.
Most people do not feel comfortable in front of the camera, us included! We use our years of experience to help pose you in flattering poses so you’ll know exactly what to do. We’ll help you have fun, so we can get the best and most natural expressions from you that we can. We believe the best photographs are made with experience, beautiful light, and flattering posing. We will make you look incredible and tell the story of your day, all while providing a fun and laid-back experience. We are incredibly detail oriented and believe that is present in our work.

Your wedding will only happen once and you want photographers you can trust to capture your day beautifully regardless of what may happen. Photographing weddings are often about overcoming circumstances. The room where you’re getting ready is dark and yellow? We’ll use our knowledge of lighting and experience to overcome that. The florist dropped off the flowers and no one knows how to pin boutonnieres? Josh has you covered and will take care of that for you. Rain on your wedding day? We always carry a cute clear umbrella in our car, so we can still get photos of you even if it’s raining. Read to see what other clients have to say about us here: Rave Reviews
